Film Review "Sucker Punch"

I have just recently finished watching this film and i have got to say that it was well worth the watch. The story is about a young girl who is referred to as Baby Doll (Emily Browning, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events) who is dumped in a mental institution by her step farther. There in five days she will be lobotomized. While she’s in the mental institution she makes up a imagery world where she tries to escape before someone called the high roller comes to get her.  While in the imagery world she has dreams where she fights with ten foot ninjas or flying dragons. While she’s in the imagery world it affects the real world so things are playing out the same but in different ways to which we are seeing.
The story was very confusing to start off with and took me a good half hour to get the gist of what was going on with the swap between worlds. Once you’ve understood how and what is going on with the swapping of worlds then the story is very enjoyable and very action packed.

The cast of the film are really good actors and really make you feel like the film is moving along at a very fast but enjoyable pace.

The story is very dark and gritty but you wouldn’t expect any think less form director Zack Snyder who also directed 300.

This is the first film i have every watched where most of the cast are women and all the men are the bad buys but it’s a welcome change to the ripped men in their underpants and i would defiantly like to see a number 2. I would have loved a bit more explain on the different worlds or a bit more closure on the end of the film but like I said it’s a very enjoyable film and well worth the watch.
